For my project I decided to create a graphic novel adaptation of the short story Forbidden Brides of the Faceless Slaves of the Secret House of the Night of Dread Desire with an animated trailer to advertise it. The project will include a full illustrated comic, an animated trailer, a YouTube channel and a website to advertise and allow people to read for free online. The story of Forbidden Brides tells of a Young Master in his study at night as he is writing a novel depicting a woman running towards a manor and encountering a creepy butler who tells her of a secret that leads her down a dark path. The novel is a satire that I think plays out brilliantly whist achieving the effect with such a simple subversion of expectation that may not be obvious on the first read to some people, but to others it will give them a good laugh as Neil’s clever writing comes forth. The website will hopefully be the landing platform for all people who are interested in viewing the work I make, plus the first place where professionals and companies alike will go to get in contact with me, allowing me to expand my network and types of jobs that I can work on in the future.
