Hard Surface Modelling
For this project, I focused on hard surface modelling in Maya and texturing in substance painter, then I showcased my asset in a diorama-style environment I modelled in unreal engine 5. I incorporated unreal engine five into this project so that I could highlight what I had learned over the degree in creating an environment with detailed foliage and effective lighting. This project allowed me to showcase my ability to create detailed, game-ready assets while simultaneously creating an appropriate environment and scene composition. During this project I set myself the goal of creating a balance between functional design and visual storytelling, I cited the high standard assets of triple A games and the title, Star Citizen, by Cloud Imperium Games, which is ultimately the company that this project and my entire portfolio is aimed at gaining employment with. A particular point of pride for me in this project is how I managed to integrate all elements in a cohesive scene that feels simultaneously immersive and technically polished.
